Cărbuna City Hall

On June 15, on the occasion of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, the Ghiocel de Cărbuna organization carried out an important activity, bringing together volunteers from the project "Preventing Violence and Inclusion of Elderly People in the Republic of Moldova," implemented by HelpAge International through HelpAge Moldova. Alongside the project beneficiaries, members of the initiative group "Youth Bring Change" and other interested individuals also participated.

During the event, representatives of the Ialoveni Police Inspectorate presented statistical data on cases of domestic violence in the district and provided information on intervention measures and emergency situation management. At the same time, the importance of a proper intervention and the activity of the local multidisciplinary commission were discussed.

The participants had the opportunity to test their knowledge about violence, to use art therapy to express emotions, and to reflect on personal values.

During the event, another project aimed at supporting elderly and disadvantaged individuals was also mentioned. The project "Promoting CSOs as Partners in Developing Resilient Social Services," funded by the European Union, co-funded and implemented by a consortium consisting of Keystone Moldova, Dorcas Moldova, and Neoumanist Moldova, will take place between 2023 and 2025 and has a budget of approximately one million euros.

As part of this project, Ghiocel de Cărbuna, in partnership with the Cărbuna Village Hall, will establish and develop social services, including a social laundry, provided free of charge to more than 200 people from socially vulnerable groups.
