Constantin Cecoi is the mayor of the village of Cărbuna in Ialoveni district, Republic of Moldova. Elected as an independent candidate, Cecoi has been actively involved in the administration of the locality, playing a significant role in the development of infrastructure and the implementation of community projects.

Activities and achievements

Renewable energy projects: Under his leadership, the village of Cărbuna implemented a photovoltaic panel system to power artesian wells, thereby reducing the costs of drinking water and contributing to the community's energy sustainability.

Modern infrastructure: A modern street lighting project was implemented, partially funded by the local diaspora and supported by the Government of the Republic of Moldova, improving the safety and comfort of residents at night.

Social services: A social laundry has been opened in the village, intended for people with low incomes, pensioners, and other vulnerable groups, contributing to improved hygiene conditions and support for the local community.

Challenges and perspectives

In an interview with Radio Free Europe, Constantin Cecoi emphasized the difficulties faced by the village of Cărbuna, such as the massive migration of young people and the lack of financial resources. He mentioned that although progress has been made, the locality still faces significant challenges in its development.
